Conditions

Wellspine treats a variety of conditions with technologically advanced procedures.

Discectomy

A discectomy removes part of a prolapsed disc that is compressing nerves, and usually provides faster pain relief than non-surgical conservative treatment.

Herniated Disc

Surgical treatment varies from a less invasive procedure called a microdiscectomy through disc replacement, bone removal or bone grafting.

Cervical Spinal Stenosis

Stenosis is a condition in which the structures surrounding the nerve tissue start to pinch that nerve tissue, cutting off the flow of nerve signals.

Lumbar Spinal Stenosis

This disease is characterized by bony growths that occur upon the spine. These growths can cause back pain or be asymptomatic.

Spinal Stenosis

Spinal stenosis happens when the foramina, or boney openings, within the spine narrows, thus reducing space for the nerves.

Sciatica

Sciatica is a term used to describe the pain that originates in the lower back, through the hips, and buttocks and travels down the leg to the feet and toes.

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Minimally invasive spine surgery is performed on the spine, uses small incisions, minimizes the damage to nearby muscles, and boasts faster recovery times than more invasive surgery.

Artificial Disc Replacement

The procedure of artificial disk replacement removes damaged disk material between vertebrae, which is then replaced with an artificial disk or a prosthetic. This can relieve back pain.

Complex Spine Fusions

Spinal fusion includes lumbar spinal fusion, cervical spinal fusion, and PLIFs. The goal of these procedures is to limit joint pain.

What People Say About Us.

“I have been seen and treated by Dr. Batlle since April 2019, due to injuries from a fall in 2018. He was kind, encouraging, and patiently explained my problem and his recommendation. I was relieved that I finally found someone to address my neck & back pain and progressive arm & leg weakness. My Workman's Comp doctor in Odessa refused to order an MRI or acknowledge the seriousness of my injury. Thank God for Dr. Batlle because he diagnosed me with a cervical spinal cord injury. I had a crushed spinal cord that Workman's Comp refused to treat for 6 months! Dr. Batlle did a fusion at C3-4 and C4-5 that took the pressure off my spinal cord. I am also grateful and appreciative of his staff, who worked efficiently to get it done.”

“Extremely accommodating, considering the tight schedule I gave them. Surgery lasted 2-1/2hr instead of the usual 3-1/2 to 4hrs. Hospital he uses is top notch, with an very low patient to nurse ratio, which is fantastic, and the nurses were incredibly dedicated, considerate and pleasant. The surgery went superbly well, and a month and a half later, 99.5% of my symptoms are gone, before even starting therapy. More face time with the doctor would be a plus, but team and PA do a great job.”

– Eric Gruchet

“Best experience I have had hands down going to the Dr! Staff was extremely helpful, and I was in and out very fast and had all my questions answered. Turns out I had a pinched nerve and a bulging disk and they are getting me set up on the best plan so I can get all these issues fixed. Definitely would recommend to anyone! Dr. Battle is AWESOME.”
